Do not allow children or the inﬁrm to play with your speaker without adult supervision. 5. Do not expose your speaker to excessive heat, ﬂames or ﬁre. 6. Always press all buttons or switches carefully. Do not manhandle your speaker. 7. Do not use in extremely dry environments, as this can lead to static discharge during usage. 8. Do not expose your speaker to temperatures above 40°C. Keep out of direct sunlight. 9. Do not attempt to repair this product yourself. Contact a qualiﬁed service center if your speaker is in need of service. 10. Do not drop, puncture or expose your speaker to excessive trauma. 11. Your speaker is not intended for commercial use. 12. You can use your speaker with iPads, iPhones, iPods and many other types of smartphones and Bluetooth devices to stream music. In order to get the best results when using this device, please read this manual ﬁrst before using. Charging Your Speaker Your speaker has a built-in, rechargeable lithium ion battery. To avoid damage, do not attempt to remove the battery. The full performance of the battery is only achieved after a few charging-discharging cycles. Charge the battery fully before ﬁrst use. To do so, follow the steps below: 1. Connect the Micro USB end of the included 2 in 1 USB Charging and Audio Cable to the Micro USB charging port on your speaker. Then plug the USB end of the cable into a USB port on your computer or a suitable power adapter in order to charge the internal rechargeable battery. USB Audio Micro USB 2 in 1 USB Charging and Audio Cable NOTE: The internal battery of your speaker takes approximately two hours to charge when completely drained. 2. When the battery is charging, the Charging Status LED indicator light will turn red. This light will turn off when the battery is fully charged. Unplug when charging is complete. NOTE: Overcharging could reduce the life of the battery. A charged battery will lose its capacity if it is not used on a regular basis. Important! To avoid a complete discharge of the battery, charge your speaker at least once every six months. Pairing Your Speaker with a Bluetooth Device Your speaker can be paired with most Bluetooth devices including iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches, and most smartphones, laptops and tablets. In order to pair your speaker with a phone, follow the steps below: 1. Press and hold the Power button on your speaker until it powers on. The Power Status LED indicator light turns blue to indicate that your speaker is powered on. 2. Once your speaker is powered on, The Pairing Status LED indicator light will turn blue and blink rapidly. This indicates that your speaker is in pairing mode. 3. Go to the Bluetooth Manager of your Bluetooth device. 4. Search Bluetooth devices and select your speaker (most frequently listed as “VIVITAR SPEAKER”) to start connecting. 5. Enter “0000” if your device asks for the PIN code. 6. Once paired, the Pairing Status LED indicator light will stop blinking and steadily shine blue. Note that anytime music is playing, the Pairing Status LED indicator light will slowly blink blue every few seconds. NOTE: If a memory card is inserted in the TF Card Reader slot your speaker will automatically go into Music Mode in which music is played from the memory card. Repeatedly press the mode button ( ) to switch between Bluetooth mode, Auxiliary Input mode, and Music mode. Using Your Speaker Powering Your Speaker On and OFF 1. Press and hold the Power button on your speaker to power it on. If you have already paired your speaker to your Bluetooth device, they will automatically remain paired each time you power on your speaker. 2. Press and hold the Power button again in order to power off your speaker. Listening to Music • Play/Pause Button: Press to play or pause a track. • Quickly tap the “Next Track/Volume Up” button to advance to the next song in a playlist. • Quickly tap the “Previous Track/Volume Down” button to go back to the previous song in a playlist. • Press and hold the “Next Track/Volume Up” button to increase the volume. • Press and hold the “PreviousTrack/Volume Down” button to decrease the volume. Note: You can also adjust volume and playback settings on your phone or connected audio device. Auxiliary Input Mode To use your speaker with audio devices that are not Bluetooth enabled, plug the Micro USB end of the included 2 in 1 USB Charging and Audio Cable into the Micro USB Charging Port on your speaker. Plug the Audio end of the cable into the headphone jack on your audio device. USB Audio Micro USB 2 in 1 USB Charging and Audio Cable Maintenance and Care -Before using your speaker, inspect the ports to make sure that they are clear of dust and debris before charging or inserting any cables. -Use a soft cloth to clean your speaker. Never use any harsh chemicals or detergents. Make sure your speaker is dry before using. -When your speaker is not in use, it should be stored in a cool, dry place. -Never tug or yank on either USB charging cables or AUX cables while they are connected to your speaker. Connect and disconnect these cables as carefully as possible. -Never expose your speaker to high temperatures, extreme cold, high humidity or excessive moisture or water. -Please recycle or dispose of your speaker properly based on the laws and rules of your municipality.
