Grant CommentsThe device operates on AIS 1 - channel 87 (161.975 MHz) and AIS 2 - channel 88B (162.025 MHz) with remote frequency assignment capability. In addition to the labels or other identifying information required under §§ 2.925 and 2.926 of this chapter, each Class B AIS device shall include a conspicuous label that includes: (i) instructions on how to accurately program into the device and confirm static data pertaining to the vessel in which the device is or will be installed; and (ii) the following statement: WARNING: It is a violation of the rules of the Federal Communications Commission to input an MMSI that has not been properly assigned to the end user, or to otherwise input any inaccurate data in this device. Instructions on how to accurately enter and confirm static data in the device shall also be included in the user’s manual for the device. The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 102cm from all persons, must not exceed antenna gain of 9 dBi, and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
