Look up an IMEI or TAC
For a 14-digit IMEI base, FCCID.io calculates and appends the Luhn check digit. For a complete 15-digit IMEI, it validates the supplied check digit. Direct IMEI URLs are served without redirecting and canonicalized to the TAC page.
A CAPTCHA-protected IMEI submission also requests additional device and compatibility details. TAC-only submissions do not call external compatibility services.
Passing this validation confirms a correctly formed IMEI, not that it was issued, is active, belongs to a particular device, or has clean ownership or blacklist status.
What is an IMEI TAC?
The first eight digits of an IMEI form the Type Allocation Code. A TAC identifies the device type or allocation, not an individual subscriber or owner.
A 14-digit IMEI base contains the TAC and serial portion but omits the final Luhn check digit. FCCID.io calculates that digit and displays the completed 15-digit IMEI. A complete IMEI lookup instead verifies the supplied check digit.
Accepted formatting includes 14 or 15 continuous digits, AA-BBBBBB-CCCCCC-D, TAC-SERIAL-CHECK, and equivalent groups without a check digit or separated by spaces in the lookup form.
This database combines attributed open TAC sources and checks monthly for new TACs. Existing catalog entries are preserved unchanged. Records can be incomplete or inaccurate and are not a blacklist or carrier-status service.
