There must be an informational insert inside the box (product package) that clearly informs the consumer (buyer/owner) when the radio is transmitting on GMRS frequencies, that operation on GMRS frequencies requires an FCC license and such operation is subject to additional rules specified in 47 C.F.R. Part 95. The installation and operating configurations of this transmitter, including any applicable source-based time-averaging duty factor, antenna gain and cable loss, must satisfy MPE categorical Exclusion Requirements of §2.1091. This device must transmit with a source-based time-averaging duty factor not exceeding 50 %. The antenna(s) used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Installers and end-users must be provided with antenna installation instructions and transmitter operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. |
