Grant CommentsThis system is accepted as meeting the interference mitigation and avoidance requirement of Section 15.611 based on several considerations. Similar units tuned to other frequency bands are expected to be submitted for certification, so that Access BPL providers can selected the appropriate equipment to avoid locally used frequencies. Further, the equipment includes notching capability to eliminate interference. Should these steps prove insufficient to eliminate harmful interference, the equipment can be turned off and if necessary promptly replaced manually so as to maintain service to users. BPL providers must be informed of their obligations in using this equipment.
