Giteki search and number verification API

Search Japanese radio certifications and check certificate numbers with the free FCCID.io JSON API. English and Japanese data, CORS and no API key.

Free, no key or registration. JSON responses support cross-origin browser requests. Access is limited to 30 requests per rolling minute and 500 per UTC day per IP. When displaying the data, link visibly to FCCID.io Giteki and credit Japan MIC. Read the API terms.

Verify a certificate number

GET https://fccid.io/giteki/api/verify.json?num=007-AL0007

num is required. Exact numbers take priority. Full-width characters, case variations and harmless punctuation can resolve to a unique number; an optional printed R prefix is accepted for standard numbered labels. Ambiguous normalized matches receive HTTP 409. Pass the number itself rather than a URL.

This is an abbreviated example. The full response also supplies attribution, snapshot metadata and up to 50 source radio records with both english and original fields. If more records exist, radio_records_truncated is true and the certificate page contains the complete record.

A number match confirms catalog presence. It does not prove the current legal status or authenticity of a device. found: false means no catalog match in the reported snapshot. Consult the original MIC records for authoritative confirmation.

Responses, freshness and limits

Data endpoints accept GET, HEAD and OPTIONS. Responses include attribution, link_required, terms_url and a snapshot containing the source date and publication time. Certification dates belong to the records; the snapshot source date identifies the catalog input. snapshot.visible_through gives the inclusive search date cutoff. Snapshot IDs also change when that cutoff advances.

Rate-limit headers expose the remaining minute and day allowances and their reset times as Unix timestamps. On HTTP 429, wait for the number of seconds in Retry-After. Responses use Cache-Control: no-store so shared caches cannot mix quotas or serve stale verification; applications can keep their own copies.

HTTP statusMeaning
200Lookup completed, including a number not found or an empty search.
400Missing, malformed, duplicate or unsupported parameters.
404 / 405Unknown endpoint / unsupported method.
409Ambiguous number or a changed catalog snapshot.
429IP request allowance exhausted.
503Catalog or quota storage temporarily unavailable. Retry after 60 seconds.

The documents_url field links to the certificate’s document list and its individual viewer pages. MIC source PDF URLs are not distributed by this API.
